The End of Grade 11 Physics

Hi everyone:
Good luck to you in writing the exam. Hope this blog helped you in the course.
Thanks to all who contributed, in a big way or in a small way.
See you in grade 12 physics.

Magnetic Fields

By Awot

Hello classmates!

Today Ms.k and us corrected the Questions from yesterday on the text book. It was on page 510. Ms.k has uploaded the corrections on the blog by the way. After that, Ms.k drew a diagram and explained the difference between conventional current flow of positive charges and electron flow theory. On conventional current she showed us how to determine the direction of the current and North using our fingers.

For monday we were given three sheets of assignments. They are Electromagnetism assignments on conventional current. One of them is a page back to back and the other two are just on page each. Thats all we did today and that is all we have to do for monday.

As Ms.k said there is only a couple of days left. Lets not wait until the day before the exam and panic.

Just Another Scribe

Yes, it's me the one and only... doing a late post, nothing new. ONLY 11 DAYS UNTIL EXAM guys. Today we officially started our unit on Magnetic Fields; we started off the class with introduction notes which are in the slide posted preview to the last slide before mine, haha hope everyone got that. Then, we were assigned to read pages 492 – 496 in the physics textbook and answer 10 questions which I’m positive no one finished, including me. But, here are the first six questions frome th Reviwing Concepts section on page 510 of the text book:

1. Magnetic attraction only occurs between a North and South Pole. Magnetic repulsion occurs between 2 North poles or 2 South poles.
2. A permanent magnet doesn’t lose its magnetism easily. A temporary magnet is only a magnet when it is under the influence /or attracted to a permanent magnet.
3. 3 most common magnetic elements: (alnico)
-Aluminum
-Nickel
-Cobalt

6. A broken magnet cannot have isolated poles because they always come in pairs.
And that will be in for my last scribe of grade 11 Physics

g & E Review

Hello, it's me Allyson.
I guess I'm scribe for today's class.
We didn't do much today except prepare for tomorrow.
We did a brief review over some things that will be on the test.
Ms. K was kind enough to upload it to our blog, so check it out below.
As a reminder, the test is on the Gravitational and Electric Fields unit.

Oh, and here's something random for your enjoyment.
On average, there are 178 sesame seeds on each McDonalds BigMac bun. =)

And that's it. Good luck tomorrow, study hard.
Later days.

Monday January 14

hey guys! Since there hasn't been a scribe for a while, im going to scribe for today.
Today in class we corrected our Electric Fields Worksheet in class and since most of us didn't do it ms.k assigned us more problems from the green booklets. #'s 1,2,3,9, 12 page.444-445.
After we finished those questions we corrected them in class.
And that is all we did in class today.
Remember test on Wednesday!

Scribing for a bonus mark

Hi everyone! Its me m@rk and I'll scribe for today's class. It has been quite a while since someone scribed for our class so i just decided to do it. Well, we started today's class by studying all about electric fields and its differences compare to gravitational fields. Then after that Ms. K handed out 3 sheets regarding electric fields. We worked on those three sheets during the rest of the class. Thats about it for my scribe.

The next scribe will be Mike

Tuesday January 8 & Wednesday January 9

Hello fellow classmates,

Sorry for being late but here is Tuesday's blog.

On Tuesday all we did in class was correct questions on the smart board from the Gravitational Fields worksheet. We finished all the questions up to 9.

That was about it for Tuesday's class, since it was so short I will post Wednesday's as well.

On Wednesday we corrected the Chapter 5 Review on the board, so there is not upload for the answers. Questions 11 and 12 were for bonus marks if you handed them in. After that we received some new sheets, including a review for the Gravitational Fields unit. If you were not there remember to get the sheets. Remember the test is on Tuesday. We also started the Electric Fields unit.

That's all for Wednesday and Tuesday. Study hard!
